Bible Fellowship Group Study Questions:
- In Revelation 2:1-7, Jesus commends the Ephesian church for their perseverance and discernment in doctrine, but criticizes their loss of first love for Him. Reflect on your own spiritual journey. Can you identify any areas where you may have become more focused on correct doctrine or religious practices, rather than nurturing your close relationship with Jesus? How can you take steps to reignite your passion for Christ and restore that love?
- In Revelation 2:4-5, Jesus calls the Ephesian church to remember their first love, repent, and do the works they did at first. What specific actions or attitudes characterized your initial love for Christ when you first believed? Are there any of these actions or attitudes that you've lost along the way? How can you intentionally incorporate them back into your life?
- Revelation 2:7 highlights the promise of eternal life and the privilege of eating from the tree of life in the paradise of God for those who overcome. In your daily struggles and temptations, how can you keep this eternal perspective in mind? How can the hope of this future reward motivate you to remain faithful to Jesus, maintaining a vibrant relationship with Him and overcoming the challenges you face?
