Better in Every Way | Hebrews 8:1-13

Pastor Anton Brown - 4/6/2025

Sermon Outline:

Big Idea: In Jesus Christ, we have the great high priest we truly need: He gave Himself for us once for all, He now intercedes for us before the throne of God, and He is at work transforming us from the inside out.

  1. A better priest (1-5)
  2. A better ministry (6-7)
  3. A better covenant (8-13)

Bible Fellowship Group Study Questions:

  1. According to Hebrews 8:1–2, what details about Jesus’ current position and role as our high priest stand out to you, and why are they significant for how you approach God?
  2. What are the key differences between the old and new covenants as described in Hebrews 8:6–13, and how do these contrasts help you see the grace of God more clearly?
  3. In what ways are you still tempted to relate to God as if you are under the old covenant—striving for acceptance, fearing judgment, or feeling distant from Him?
  4. Hebrews 8:10 says, “I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts.” How have you seen the Spirit changing your desires and shaping your heart to love what God loves? Where do you still long to grow?
  5. Verse 12 declares, “I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” Do you honestly believe this? How would your thoughts, prayers, and relationships look different if you fully embraced this truth?
  6. How can you cultivate a deeper trust in the better promises of the new covenant this week—in your time with God, your fight against sin, and your service to others?
