Consider Jesus | Mark 2:17, Acts 3:15 and Romans 3:22

Pastor Anton Brown - 4/20/2025

Sermon Outline:

Big Idea: Because Jesus came to save sinners, rose to conquer death, and calls us to trust Him by faith, we must turn from every false hope and rest fully in Christ alone.

  1. Consider the Ministry of Jesus (Mark 2:17)
  2. Consider the Resurrection of Jesus (Acts 3:15)
  3. Consider the Eternal Message of Jesus (Romans 3:22)

Bible Fellowship Group Study Questions:

1. In Mark 2:17, how does Jesus describe His mission, and what does that reveal about the kind of people He came to call? How does this contrast with the expectations of the religious leaders?

2. In Luke 7, the woman washes Jesus’ feet with her tears. What does Jesus' response to her teach us about grace, forgiveness, and the heart posture that pleases Him?

3. Consider Romans 3:22–24. What does this passage say about how we are made right with God? What words or phrases stand out as especially important or surprising?

4. How are you tempted to seek redemption or acceptance through your own effort, morality, or religious activity rather than resting in Christ alone?

5. Reflect on the resurrection of Jesus. How does believing in a risen Savior change the way you view your sin, your suffering, or your future?

6. The message of the gospel invites a response: “Sorry, Thank You, Please.” Which part of that simple gospel prayer do you most need to return to today—and why?
