Why Do We Give?

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. We believe that Jesus calls us to radical generosity, so we give out of the gladness of our hearts.

Here's how your contribution helps:

  • Giving Glorifies God

Giving Glorifies God as the Source of All We Have

Scripture teaches that everything we possess ultimately comes from God and belongs to Him. Our giving acknowledges His ownership and glorifies Him as the Giver.

    • “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1).
    • “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce” (Proverbs 3:9).

By giving, we proclaim that our treasure is not ultimate—God is.

  • Giving Provides

Giving Provides for the Work of Ministry and the Needs of Others

God commands His people to support gospel work and care for the poor. Giving enables the advance of His kingdom through the church and meets tangible needs.

    • “The Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel” (1 Corinthians 9:14).
    • “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality” (Romans 12:13).
    • “They gave according to their means…beyond their means…begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints” (2 Corinthians 8:3–4).
  • Giving Trains the Heart

Giving Trains the Heart in Trust and Eternal Perspective

Generosity shapes us. When we give, we loosen our grip on money, grow in faith, and store up eternal treasure.

    • “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21).
    • “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
    • “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth… but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven” (Matthew 6:19–20).
