Holy Week- Monday: Matthew 21:12-13

And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. 13 He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.” Matthew 21:12–13 (ESV)
Mark 11:11 states that Jesus went into the temple and “looked around at everything.” Matthew displays what he saw and does about it. He sees hearts of greed. He states it is to be a house of prayer, and they had made it a den of thieves. They were perverting God's purposes for their gain. It was to be a place of His presence, a place to commune with Him, a place for the humble, sick, suffering, and sinful to experience His presence and be healed. Let us come to Jesus and commune with Him in this Holy Week. I hope you will come to the house of prayer and receive from Him- His life given for you.
