Holy Week- Thursday: John 13:14-15

“If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.” John 13:14-15
Footwashing was a servant’s job, but at the last supper, Jesus and the disciples sat around the table with dirty feet. It was Jesus, not one of the disciples, who responded to the need. He took off his street clothes, knelt before each one, and washed their dirty, calloused feet as a loving, humble servant. What a poignant reminder that we, too, are called to see each other’s needs, set aside our pride, get on our knees, and serve each other with love and humility.
Ponder: Who is God calling you to serve with love and humility?
