I am convinced that the preparation of our hearts for Christian worship on Sunday is of utmost importance. Worship is not a mere ritual, but it is a holy encounter with the triune God who created us, redeemed us, and sanctifies us. Worship is also an act of obedience and love to God and a means of spiritual nourishment and edification for the believer. Therefore, preparing our hearts before we enter the sanctuary and approach the throne of grace is crucial.

In times of great sorrow and tragedy, we can take comfort in the knowledge that God is with us, offering us his love, compassion, and grace. May we hold fast to this truth as we grieve and mourn the loss of those taken from us too soon.

I want to reassure you that as a pastor, I lead among a group of elders. As do the other elders, I treasure the unity that we share, and we do not move forward without complete agreement on a matter. I would not bring a proposal before the congregation if the elders were not unanimous regarding its need and importance.

Let's be people of God's Word. 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (ESV) says, "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."

In 2021, we made a big decision as a church—we would move from a church of committees to a church of teams. A team is two or more people who collaborate to accomplish a common goal or activity. Teams are different from committees in many ways.
