Jesus Alone | Hebrews 4:14-5:10

Pastor Anton Brown - 3/2/2025

Sermon Outline:

Big Idea: Jesus alone is the object of our trust, the means of our forgiveness, and the source of our salvation.

  1. Let us hold fast (4:14-15)
  2. Let us draw near (4:16-5:6)
  3. The salvation of the obedient ones (5:7-10)

Bible Fellowship Group Study Questions:

1. What are some “lesser saviors” you tend to run to for comfort, security, or peace instead of holding fast to Jesus? How might you actively replace these with deeper trust in Christ this week?

2. When you feel weak, tempted, or burdened, do you tend to withdraw from God or draw near to His throne of grace? Why do you think that is?

3. Jesus sympathizes with our weaknesses and has endured suffering Himself. How does this truth reshape the way you approach Him with your struggles and prayers?

4. Obedience flows from love for Jesus. Where in your life are you tempted to settle for a “verbal-only” faith instead of living out wholehearted obedience? What would repentance look like in that area?

5. When you reflect on Christ’s perfect obedience on your behalf, how does it affect your motivation to follow Him, especially when you fail?

6. The invitation of this passage is to stop hiding and start drawing near. What practical steps can you take this week to cultivate confidence in coming before God’s throne of grace daily?
