Bible Fellowship Group Study Questions

  1. The King of Nineveh puts off pride and position by descending from his throne, removing his robe, and covering himself with sackcloth and ashes.  He is also putting on humility.  Discuss putting off and putting on using the diagram drawn in the sermon and included to the right.
  2. What do you need to put off?
  3. Does God change His mind or change in any way?  Why or why not?  Consider Numbers 23:19, Malachi 3:6, and James 1:17 in your answer.
  4. Pastor Anton stated that we should understand that the Bible is inspired by God and written in a way that we can understand.  God accommodates or adapts Himself to us in a way that we can understand.  In this way, we can reconcile verse 10 with the passages mentioned in number 3 above.  Do you find this a convincing way of considering the matter? Do you have another way of considering these passages?  Discuss with the group.
