Big Idea: The Fear of the Lord is a reverence and awe for God's holiness that leads us to repentance and greater trust in Him.
1. The problem of fear that is untethered from obedience (7-10).
2. The mercy of the awareness of sin (11-13).
3. True fear takes action against sin (14-16).

- True fear of the Lord takes action against sin. Pastor Anton quoted John Owen who said, “The mortification of indwelling sin remaining in our mortal bodies, that it may not have life and power to bring forth the works or deeds of the flesh, is the constant duty of believers.” Owen also said, “Be killing sin or sin will be killing you.” What does this mean?
