Big Idea: The damaging severity of human sin cannot deter God’s plan to save His people.

1. From the flood to Abram is 365 years (11 generations) and we might expect mankind to have grown to at least 25 million or possibly as high as 146 million (according to Keil & Delitzsch). What significance does this have for God’s plan for creation?

2. What does the genealogy tell us, especially if we consider Hebrews 1:3-4 and Colossians 1:15-17?

3. What major consequence of God’s judgment by flood is evident in the passage this week? Are there always consequences to judgment? See Genesis 3, Numbers 20, and 2 Samuel 12 in consideration of your answer.

4. In light of the above, it is vital for believers in Jesus to remember Romans 5:12-19. Read it and discuss it together.
