My mother, Victoria Shannon, was a member of your church for many years. She considered you her church family - it was a very important part of her life. She left Massachusetts eight years ago, when she and my dad retired in North Carolina. She doesn't know I'm writing you, but I think she could really use a prayer, and maybe a message from someone who knew her.
The move to NC was great for my dad, but has been a little more challenging for my mother. Despite the abundance of churches in the South, she has struggled to find one that feels like the right fit. It's hard to replace family.
Last year, my Dad passed away, quite suddenly. They were married 50 years, so it's been very tough for her.
My mom broke her arm a couple days ago (she fell in a dark parking lot). She may need surgery to fix it. She's putting on a brave face, but this has been a lot for her! I asked her last year if she'd reached out to Mayflower, but I think she felt she couldn't, not being a current member anymore.
Thank you and God bless.
